SIMPLY STITCHING

In my film Simply Stitching I am offering the viewer an opportunity to observe the artist mother creating work in an intimate domestic setting with my baby beside me. There is a fine line between tedium and joy in spending time with a young baby. Whilst the frustration caused through lack of time, the necessity to slow down, to acknowledge the desires of another human totally reliant upon me cannot help but suffuse the artwork I make neither does it not halt my instinct to create. Motherhood is a primal experience that has strengthened and informed my work
